    msd ignition/boost retard with a gtr ecu?

    ok i had a quick question if any one can help i have the msd ignition box thing with boost retard and i have read that some people have ran the bp26 ecu with the msd box/retard but had some issues

    i was wondering would i be able to run my msd ignition/retard with the gtr ecu with no issuess?????? or will i run into some problems???

    why are you trying to run the boost retard unit? not happy with the GTR ECU settings?

      i would wait tilll i atleast pull it out and send it before you buy unneeded parts...lol.... right now its set at 14degrees, i think i read the gtr and gtx ecu's cut timing back a degree or 2 if the knock sensors not hooked up , so either way you wont get the full advance from the ecu without it... as far as i remember thats more usefull on a stock na ecu.....

        alright cause thats whut im useing now is a msd ignition with boost retard /stock n/a ecu

        and was wondering would i have to pull the msd box and boost retard???? before i would hook up myegt gtr ecu????????????? was wondering was it good or bad

        only reason i was thinking of keeping the boost retard and msd box is one it pulls good with it and i thought the boost retard would come in handy when i go get me some 110 octance for qualcomm

            i think i might need to google some stuff but thats what i was told by turboproto when getting it installed he said it would pull harder and the retard was when you run higher octane fuel??? sorry i just woke up so let me have my morning ciggy and some coffee and back to the seacrh button

            but basically was wondering would it be benificial to keep the msdbox/retrad with a gtr ecu ???? or would it hurt the engine ?? or just cause unwanted issues

              better fuel doesnt need the retard that sh*tty fuel needs, basically the higher the ocatane the longer the flash, so you can advance timing farther because itll still be usefull to it. lower octane burns that much faster, figure ones a spark ones a boom...lol... figure this, higher octane might have energy from from top of the stroke and pushs all the way down, now low octane might just spark at the top and the rest is useless...lol..... start fresh, see how you like the gtr ecu and go from there. id sell it off and maybe buy an ebc or something more usefull. im trying to get my buddys tru boost for mine...

                i alread have a greddy profec 1 electronic booost controller but thanx for the advice yea was just seeing if i would need it or not seems like i dont need it so i might trade a buddy of mine some more parts for different parts lol

                    yea so far some ground control coil overs some new plug wires some rims powder coated vc and some more stuff but for got some interrior pieces i believe

                      aight so i get the boost reatard is for when you have to use low octane gas hmm might wana keep it since the highest octane we have in sandiego is 91 octane but you can get 93 octane, 100, 115 octane i believe also at the vp racing fuel gas station hmm might just take it out and sell it then
