    Thanks and Groans

I've seen a feature in other forums (vBulletin) where you can thank a useful post or "groan" at it if you dislike it.

It plays a little to the popularity contest but it's not a bad idea to raise participation.

You can see them being used here for example:

LOL, I actually enjoy this about mazdaspeedforum, I think this would be used a lot here.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

What's holding us back from having the feature active?

no, ryan is not the only one that can do stuff. I need to look into it and see what database version we need and what else is involved in it.

lol hating me for something already josh LOL.

this "feature" is stupidly similar to karma points system on mx6.com per example
Vbulletin has a similiar feature with the reputation points.

Im just not all to fond to see more jibberish on the side notes under each members name left column

While I agree making it too busy is not a good idea - I think this can improve user participation and make the forum a bit more interactive.

If you could make it to where there ins't a seperate box and more like something over by your user info is that would be good. like under positive feedback have a title that says reps then a negative and positive category.

I've gone to a site that has a "thanked" system it displays times thanked and a little check to thank someone
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
