    Wht95scort's build thread

Well, I guess I'll start one of these build threads. I obtained another escort gt back in sept and started collecting parts for the turbo build. I'm shooting for 350 FWHP and still be a DD car. I hope to have this all done by mid July. I will also be taking on the E153 swap like Jon and Ferdi. I'm sure more of you will be as well. Also will be making my own exhaust mani and intake mani. So far I got a few things.

    GT2871r BB Turbo. .50/.63
    Tial 50mm bov
    JGS wastegate
AEM FIC with built in Map senor.(this can only be used on 96 escorts due to it being OBD2) This allows me to make my own fuel and ignition maps in 21x17 map tables.
    AEM Wideband
    boost gauge
    Jons E153 plate
    E153 trans and axles

I will post more as I do things but as of right now I'm still gathering parts.
    so onto some pics...

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

He said it was cleaner than his last white GT which was spotless so this one has to be brand new lol.

                  Small update

Well started to do a few lill things on the car. First was to fix my water leak issue. Rear floor was getting wet turned out to be the 1/4 glass weatherstrip needed to be re-sealed on both sides.

Here is what I started this weekend. Custom gauge cluster to house two 52mm gauges. I bought a used cluster so I didn't have to hack up mine in case I messed up. Then needed a 2 3/8 hole saw to cut the spots out for the gauges. My friend gave me a hand with this part. He used a angle finder to find the angle for the gauges, then drilled a hole to guide the hole saw at that same angle. Then I got a 2" pvc pipe. cut two small pieces and slid them into the new holes. Marked them and cut them out with a dremel. Sanded and primed the tubes. I still need to glue them in place fill the gaps and paint. Here are some pics..

                  Holes cut in cluster

                  PVC tubes cut

                  Tubes primed and temp installed

                  Gauges installed

wow, that's one of the best idea's i've ever seen for gauge locations. i HATE how tacky it looks when people have retarded monster gauges all over their dash.

I have a fully built engine waiting to go in. It's funny because its my old engine from the white car. As for the AEM I went with it because its fully tunable and wasn't that much money. I am going to still keep A/C and P/S as the car will still be my DD.
