Paper gaskets. What is recommended around the water passes? What do you use and how to do it?

I would just use grease because it makes the cheap gaskets re-usable, but...

I generally use some sort of spray sealant for cooling system gaskets. Helps keep the gasket aligned when you're installing it, and it also seems to help seal just a little bit better. I suppose grease would be acceptable as well; I use it on other gaskets with no problems. But I wouldn't reuse a gasket like that, no matter what I put on it. They're cheap enough that it's not worth the risk.

i just use them how they are and have never had any leaks. the paper gaskets swell up when the coolent hits them helping the seal

seeing how those are intake gaskets just torque them down to the higher end of spec... if that makes any since.

you could just use "monkey blood" its a gasket tack liquid type stuff that comes in a can with a brush in the lid, you just brush it on the mating surface and then stick the seal to it in position and it stays put.
