    Engine Shakes....HELP!!!!

    What's up everybody,

Here's my situation, my engine begins to shake/jump in short intervals when i have the A/C on and ocassionaly when I don't have it on; It only shakes when I am stopped and not in motion. I recently had all my belts changed (timing belt included), My spark plugs and wires are 4 months old ( I didn't change the distributor cap), my motor mounts are NEW (all of them), and the car always has regular maintnance done on time. I didn't see any leaks or cracked hoses. Any one have any ideas what it could be?
    Thanks for all your input.

    p.s. it's a 95 Dx

like does your rpm drop real low and almost die?

    if so...
check your ac coolant level. mine did that and I actually had to much in it and it would freeze up and want to die on me and actually did a few times.... never died when the ac was off but it did drop teh RPMs really low(like the engine light would come on and stuff but it would sputter and come back)

my car is automatic so i don't have an rpm gauge, But I can't recall ever feeling a dip in the rpms only a bad shaking effect that moves the car slightly; it feels like my motor is trying to leap out from under the hoodthe hood. It hasn't died on me while it shakes. It could be the a/c coolant level but the car ocasionaly shakes (considerably less, but still at random time when i'm not in motion) when I don't have the a/c on.
      thnx

Goto autozone and get a can of "Carb cleaner". Remove the intake tubing, hold your throtte plate open and spray it into the carb. The idea is to loosen that dark ring you see in the throttle body. It's not supposed to be there. That's what usually causes the famous "idle dip" problem.

Stupid question...have you checked the idle? Too low and the engine will run rough...not having a tach would make this easy to overlook.

does your check engine light come on? If it does it could be your O2 sensor

I also had the O2 sensors replaced recently. I played with the idle screw and I got it to be less forceful but the problem is still there . Every time I over adjusted I could feel it. Does anyone think it can be my compressor or maybe my alternator pulley? How would I check those out? I'm going to try the carb cleaner theory today; I'll write an update soon.

So i decided to take off my air intake and I found a crack in it by the mouth that goes near the butterfly valve. It was a smal crack so i decided to duct tape it. The problem still persists but only when the A/C is on, so i think it's related to that. I'm going to take it to an air conditioning repair shop to see what they can tell me and so that they can check my a/c coolant It may take me a week or two b/c i'm a broke college student jaja). Well thanks for all your help, I'll keep you posted on what happens. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

theres a duhickeigh bar that runs horizontally across the engine under the head. this is your internal balancer, I would say that this is probably about 3 for 4 degrees off.
you need to take your head off and use a prybar to line it up with the timing marks.
