so the gtx is done i think.

for now the 323 is just gonna be sitting in the driveway. about a week ago it blew up on me and my friend has literally every one of my tools and left to arizona for 6 months lol, so i havent even been able to take anything apart and look at it. the car pissed me off so much i havent even touched it since i towed it back to my driveway. where can i get a motor for this car from? im pretty sure i should just get rid of the car, but i might just fix it if its not gonna be a rediculous price to fix it.

i was driving on the highway and i got on it to pass a car and then the car just simply stopped going anywhere it would stay at the same rpm and not accelerate and then by the time i stopped i heard a lot of grinding sounds coming from under the hood. i looked it over a little and the block appears to be intact and no sign of shooting a piston through it at least lol. so my guess is that the turbo blew and some of the pieces of the fins went up through my intake manifold.

this is why i dont let any of my friends borrow my tools.
good luck finding a new b6t dude. and honestly if you break the car then get rid of it you should have gotten a honda instead of a BF

but if he goes that route, he should atleast switch the rods out from the mazda gtx b6t, the merc and older 323 gt's didnt get the thicker rods...

or just buy a 1.6l miata engine and be done with it. lots of jdm importers bring them here and then realize they arent worth much so they just sit around. I bet a $400 engine would solve all the problems in your life.

go to store, buy a $50 tool set, rent a engine cherry picker and pull the bitch. If your turbo is fubar make a hybrid out of another ihi turbo with it or upgrade.

dont be some little suck posting here about how is going to cry because his car broke.

+1. Old Mazdas are full participation vehicles. Yes they can piss you off but they build character. You get out of em what you put into em, and if all you want is a transportation appliance, sell that thing to someone here and buy a Hyundai or something.

                Git-r-dun!

(after you aren't as pissed off at the car that is. Mine have hacked me off to the point where I was ready to blow them up, at least once at one time or another)

Jay... you do blow them up. Just not on purpose, and then you fix them.

Hmm. I guess you've got a point there. Trying to make the rallycar more bombproof, losing sight of who's...planting..the bombs....

Yea I'm gonna get a new to set this week and start pulling the motor apart and finding out what actually happened and make a decision what to do with the car. I love the turbo 4x4 but I may have to go back to dsm's and get a talon or a gsx the only problem is selling the 323 shell idk what I can even get for it. The body is pretty clean and it does have rims and a good tranny.

It's hard to find a buyer for a gtx shell.. it really is. I know of at least 3 clean shells that were crushed.
