    Which Injectors?

I sure wish the old website were up and running so that i could look this stuff up.... I have a shot at some 550cc injectors from an RX-7 turbo (I think). Did these work in our motors? Or, was it the 450cc injectors that I should get? If I go up to the VJ-11, would it also be a good mover to go up to the bigger injectors? Is one better than the other?

    Thanks for your help!

    Larry

How much boost are you running/going to run? If you go too big on the injectors, the car will barely stay running at idle due to the river of fuel being dumped into it. Large injectors can't meter out small enough injection charges at low revs. 330 sounds like a pretty good choice to me, honestly. If you're planning on pushing a good bit more boost, I'd say go to the 450s, but probably no bigger. Are you running into problems with your current injectors, e.g. maxing them out at WOT in the upper rev range?

Hey Larry you don't drive hard enough to out flow your stock injectors..

well u using the tiny turbo there's no need for those bigger Injectors unless u usin a bigger turbo adjust the wheel on your vaf under the black cap to get richen your fuel up some wit the 330s

Ouch..... That hurt.... LOL. No, you're right. I am not hard on my car. I think that's one of the reasons it's lasted this long. But, in anticipation of stepping up to the VJ-11, I just want to make any and all proper adjustments necessary to make sure that I don't have a "mismatched" system. for example, I also plan on getting an air/fuel ration gauge to help keep an eye on things as well as I'm also aware that I may have to retard the timing a little when I go to the larger turbo. I'm just trying to figure out if bigger injectors might help. I don't want drive-ability issues (like idle problems) but I also don't want to starve the engine of fuel when I punch it and go to 6500rpms. If you guys think that the current, stock injectors are sufficient, I'll stop worrying about looking for other injectors.

What size are the stock turbo injectors? 330s?

going to the vj11 turbo should put too much strain on the injectors as they are designed to flow a bit more than suggested rate im sure? perhaps if you went to a much bigger turbo ie vf10 from subaru then you would need to look at bigger injectors IMO

here is a good site to check injector size's also

                  300.

                  330's (328cc) were in the F2T's I believe.

Well, that's sort of interesting. If I were just going to the VJ-11 and running stock boost, I'd say that I wouldn't hesitate about keeping my stock injectors. But, I'm running 15 lbs of boost on the VJ-14 and I plan on running close to that (maybe only 13 - 14 lbs of boost) on the VJ-11. Stock boost on a F2T is all of what.... 7 lbs?

I do have the modified ECU from Corksport too.

Would stepping up to the 330's cause idle problems? Are they compatible with my fuel rail? Is the amount of extra boost I'm running still low enough that you guys don't think I need to worry?

The ECU just tells your injectors when to fire and how long, not how much... Maps are running based on 300cc injectors, so without a custom map... you'll run rich on 330's.

i may be wrong but i heard that all you have to do is tune the VAF back a few click to tighten the spring and "fool" the computer in to thinking there is less air getting in and then it will dump less fuel... i would get a wideband on it and start playing with it... i have tuned up my N/A bp the same way and it runs much better now :D not sure if its the same on the b6t... but i dont see why it would be diffrent...
