    Midlifecrisis' 89 Mazda 323 SE

This is a placemarker, as i'll be posting all the info from my other thread here, not only with what ive done to the car but what ill be doing to it. Stay tuned!

OK, finally took some pics Saturday, went to a local swap meet, and then went home and did some re-arranging of the cars. I ordered a list of parts from rockauto, timing belt, wp, thermostat, steering rack seals, etc. All should be installed by next weekend. I swapped wheels and tires between 2 of my 626s and drove the more ragged auto one around the block. Im guessing its low on trans fluid, or the trans is fubar'd because it only seemed to have one higher gear, and no lower gears.. also the cap was spewing fluid, there was a TON of pressure in the cooling system, but from the gurgling sound at the thermostat, im guessing its stuck closed so ill add that to y list of parts for it.

    The collection: 1988 626 4 door turbo 5 speed, 1988 626 5 door turbo auto, 1989 626 5 door turbo 5 speed, 1989 mazda 323 se, 1995 buick roadmaster estate wagon.

The 323 in its new home:

The 323 GT ill be taking ownership of this summer:

The 626 after driving it around the block:

And just to be mean. a box of VJ11s:

    More to come this weekend.

626s are more fun! I pulled the steering rack last night for a rebuild, and installed the rear disc hubs. Have to replace the rotors, run the lines, and the e-brake cables and hopefully all my brake issues will be solved!

Holy ****, it was early May when i pulled that rack?? After 2 of my 626s were stolen including the grey car in the pic, i've been down in the dumps. Fortunately i have started scooping parts for the 323 again including new slotted rear rotors and ceramic pads, and all new bearings/seals. I'm now looking into a B6T swap out of a capri for this thing but i need to find out the following info:

-Will a 323 GT/GTX engine harness just plug up to the factory dash harness?
-Can i use the Capris shift linkage and axles?

I know the cars are ridiculously similar but i dont want to try and wire up Mercury electronics. I'm also searching for a set of reasonably priced 4 lug Lancer OZ wheels, so if anybody sees a set, let me know!

It'll plug right in and use the mercury shifter and axles.
