MAF adapter for a cone filter

ive had it on for quite some time now but right after it was installed i had the head off so i never really got to hear what it sounds like... but it sounds an awful lot like air going back through the turbo... is that normal?
could it just be the lever in the MAF just flopping around after being wide open?

i thought it was a poor bypass valve or something of the sort.

Thats why I prefer to place the BOV between the TB and the AFM.
