    95 MX3 with BP1.8 non-turbo megasquirt? need some info

Ok So Im a little new with this megasquirt stuff. Im familier with the haltech and what not. I have a customer that has a BP 1.8 non turbo engine dont ask me why he didnt get the BP 1.8 turbo...anyways its a 95 mx3 and im installing a turbo kit on it. Now I have seen a guy on here that i guess sells the ready made megasquirt PNP kit, i think his name is LEX? Would it be best to get rid of the VAF and just go map with the mx3? anyone have any ideas or have dealt with something like this?

    any inside would be appreciated!

i checked the site, i see your redoing it..so wasn't much there. But basically, I would like you to price me out a kit that can work with this application. Its a Mx3 with a BP1.8 and I will be installing a turbo kit on it. I would like to get rid of the VAf so I will be running a map, and from what i read I guess i will have to run a wire for IAT? if so than i will need the sensor for that. If I'm missing something let me know.

          Thanks.

            Hey,

The simplest kit I recommend is the MSI_NOVAF_IDLE (see details here http://www.stratifiedauto.com/index....d=46&Itemid=53)

It includes the idle air control as well as the IAT sensor, wire and plug for it.

The only requirement is that the harness you are using is from a BP car and that it interfaces properly with your other wiring in your MX3.

In other words, if your BP is running on the wiring harness you have in there and BP ECU, our kit will work.

it is running on that harness and ecu right now. So if i want to add the option 6 its 20 more right so I'm looking at 550 shipped right? and it will come with 2 base maps one for 220cc injectors and one with 550cc? and the only wires i have to run is for the IAT correct?

I just spoke to the customer and he's not sure if its got bp wiring harness and ecu. Is there a way to find out if if its the BP ecu and harness? Is the harness a problem with the MS?

Man, if you do not know how to find out what ECU the car has you should just stop right now on this MS path...

I humbly suggest you grab a cup of coffee and use the serach tool and spend a few hours every day and pamper yourself on info or just go buy a mechanic's 101 book at your local auto parts store.

Its scary when you ask such question!

LOL, The ecu code is in the ECU, if you do not know such simple answer you should not be even MS that car.

Its like asking where is the fuse box on the MX-3, it is very basic stuff which a simple book and some searching would do.

Its the same thing; Whaty ECU code or What ECU code it has, do not flip what I understood very well. Its common sense, I am almost positive that 99% of all ECU have the name on the unit itself.

Its not my car, IMO you are biting off more than you can chew...
