    Hybrid Turbo

    Hey guys, ive tried doing some reading up on this and cant find any good writeups.

    (if anyone has a link bookmarked that covers all this please post)

    Im looking to make a hybrid turbo for my 323 gtx. it has the stock turbo that comes on the b6t. i have a full 3in turbo back exhaust, and a full 2.5in intercooler/piping setup.

    I want to get a little bit of a bigger turbo setup, however if i could i would like to be able to use my custom 3in downpipe that i fabbed up to fit the existing turbo hotside.

    Now im confused on the whole hybrid turbo setup, do i use my existing hotside and just put a different size compressor on the other side? that would make my life a lot easier seeing as modding the cold side would be muuuuch easier.

    Ive heard of the thunderbird hybrid turbo setup, if anyone has any info on that, it would be appreciated.

    Anyone who can enlighten me on this topic please do.

    You might want to look into the vf12 and seeing if you can have your hot side bored out to fit it.

      i'm not in the BF section much...but i bet the information is out there just have to search a bit, people have swapped on vj-11s without issues

        i know guys run vj-17(tbird) hybrid onto the stock vj-14
        also vj-11/vj-14
        and vj17/vj-11.
        i have all the parts to do a vj-17/vj-11 hybrid or vj17/vj-14 hybrid, send me a pm if your intrested.
        do some searching for ihi or vj-11,17,20,ect hybrids on google

            The VJ11 compressor will swap onto the VJ14, its the most plug-n-play option

            The VJ17/Tbird compressor will fit as well but the VJ14 hotside is realistically too small to support the power the tbird is capable of making. Use a VJ11 hotside, you'll need a new flange for the downpipe

              mcrumble - if you're still around I can make a VJ14/TBird hybrid for you. The 323 guys can vouch for me. I was pretty active on Mazda323Performance and sold a lot of bolt on hybrid solutions with zero complaints in many years.
