Does anybody have any experience with this clutch kit? I saw it on ebay at a very good price & i am wondering if it is worth installing on my car. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-ST...#ht_2360wt_933

I ran this clutch with their 8lb miata flywheel on my BP-T EGT which was doing 198whp...
It did the job, and very well i might add.. It is a noisy clutch tho when it is slipped. after about 10k of HARRRDDDD abuse, it was still going strong..
I liked the clutch, maybe deathtrigga can chime in too since he has that car now and used the clutch for i think another year before he changed it

I just picked up one of their 1.6L Miata clutches to put in my BG with thier 1.6L flywheel. Something ended up being wrong with the pressure plate and it wouldn't disengage the clutch. I had to pull the whole thing apart again the night before I left for a race. I haven't gotten my calipers out yet to take measurements and see what the problem is.

sorry if this goes off topic a bit...

the reason i ask is because my room mate has one in a 04 duramax with ~1200 ft lbs (not a type-o) and it seems to be holding fine after the last 25k miles with no slip at all while hauling ~10k lb loads.
i really am curious, since i was planning on running one since my room mate has had such a great success with one.88 GT - DD

there stage 1 is under $200 shipped. they dont get expensive till you get into the stage 3 or so. course those are the clutch's that are really worth it. ive ran everything from there rally, to there OFE and have never been let down. southbend is hands down my fav clutch.~PaTricK~

I wouldn't be too scared if it's working. I'll try and figure out what is wrong with the one I ordered today. Right after I fix my clutch master cylinder in the BMW...again.

I've driven my buddy's civic with the f1 stage 3 clutch, hes had it in for quite awhile said he hasn't had any problems with it, grabbed very hard, seemed alright to me. For the price and if you properly install it and don't beat the piss out of it I'm sure they would be fine. I'm sure they would cover their product if there was failure due to production flaws or something along those lines.
I have installed other cheap e-bay clutches for people, and never had any issues with them, but they weren't exactly higher horsepower applications either hah

Thread revival! I have the CM stage 3. Grabs hard and smooth, but still maintains stock pedal feel. Which was great in traffic for my DD, but some people don't like the soft pedal. I don't know how much of this pertains to the stage 1 though. Oh, and ClutchMasters flywheels are just re-boxed fidanzas. It's cheaper to buy a Fidanza without the CM mark up.Before you criticize someone, first try walking a mile in their shoes. Because then you'll be a mile away, and you'll have their shoes...

Really? Great to know. I was looking at Fidanza flywheels but figured it was cheaper to go with a kit. I'll look into how everything prices out with shipping and what not. Thanks for the TipLast edited by TheDanny; 12-10-2012, 04:28 PM.1988 Mercury Tracer. (aka Ford Laser)
