    first race on dirt track!

    I raced saturday night!

It was a 250 lap enduro at 141 speedway, a 1/3rd mile dirt track. I was in second for more than half the race, only 1 lap behind the leader, and turned the fastest lap of the night! Keep in mind, this was my first race on dirt!

I ran into trouble a little bit after the halfway point, when my exhaust got broken apart right before the flex pipe. (It was VERY rough out there!) I lost a little power when that happened, and I started to notice that it was getting warmer in the car. Then it got VERY hot down by the pedals, as the exhaust was pointing straight at the area. It got so hot that my gas pedal cover melted to my shoe!!!! But I kept going! Then I encountered another problem. My shifter broke, causing the shifter to fall onto the cat, causing the car to keep poppin out of gear. I had to hold it in gear, while steering with one hand! A little while later, the car completly lost power, and I coasted into the infield. I tried starting it multiple times, but it only turned over and never fired... I sat in the car for about 50 laps while the race kept going.... After the checkered flag, I climbed out, and looked over my car, but couldn't see very well under the hood, so I got back in and got pushed onto my trailer and went home a little while later.

I tried starting it yesterday morning (sunday), and it fired right up! I looked under the hood and found a few melted wires, which leads me to think that the problem is electrical related. I also found that my rack and pinion boot got ripped, and that my entire exhaust behind my cat was missing. (Since most of the exhaust got ripped off, I think I'll be going to upgrade to a 2" exhaust with a glasspack for a muffler. It was WAY to loud, lol!)

    I finished 12th.

Heh. Might want to put an exhaust on that thing. You are a trooper for going that long with your shoe melted to the pedal even. I would have stopped long before that.

Lol, yeah. I've never been this far up front in a race before, so I wanted to keep going at all costs.
