      did the oil pump cause this or rod or piston failure.

            ^btw we drilled out it out when it first happen after we checked the head...i just took out the block yesterday to see what happened and to get ready for another one....

            bomdoutscort- i think it was the oil pump, but my uncle thinks i left the piston rod loose... the car didnt give any sign before it blew, the oil light didnt light up..and i didnt hear anything since i had the music blasting that day.... but id like see whats CP's opinion on what it could've been...

                well i guess that's one good thing of me not owning a car to put my motor in, this shizz not happening :-P sucks it happened, get you a new one and get back on the road

                    If it would be the oil pump there is going to be metal pieces on the oil collector and metal shavings everywhere when draining the oil out.

                    Oil pump would turn the light in a heart beat, in fact when it happened to me never thought the light would come on so quick. A VERY high pitch grinding noise will be heard when cranking the engine. The mayhem is done, just remove the oil pump or like I said, look at the oil tube collector, chunks from the pump gears will be displaced in the filter basket.
