... Driving Impression...
I have never driven a BP powered protege, but I have rode in one. They felt more powerful and felt like they pulled more. I never really thought much of it.
Ok so I get in the car start it up ... sounds ok , I am missing 1 manifold bolt so it has a slight exhaust leak ..
I take off and go down the blocks heading toward the highway. I am in 3rd and tap the gas to move around someone and man ... the car just got up and went..
Anyhow later on I was on 684 heading to the bbq. I was doing like 70 or so and just felt like punching it to see how things would go... man 100 came up like snaping my finger... Due to the car needing to be alighned and needing balanced wheels I didn't push it further.
The motors compression is definetly better than I thought.
1.5 VS 1.8
no comparison .. -- I am sorry but I had the 1.5 in my car for a long time and there is just no cpmparison .. the 1.8 would leave the 1.5 by at least 3 to 4 car lengths.. and the same goes for the 1.6 3rd gen.
That extra 30 hp and about 20lbs of tq really does the car justice.
The power difference is great in my honest opinion.
The car still needs some minor tuning. The fans are hot wired. and I am searching for a few more things in junkyards.
I caught my self riding the clutch at times and then said that I was going to stop doing that. So I reved the car and popped the clutch (sort of) and the tires squealed and and the car just took off.
The VICS sounds sweet. I never heard VICS before so I was not really used to hearing it , but when I took 2 friends for a ride and gunned it to 6800 in 1st and 2nd I could hear it kicking in.
All in all I have to say the car frigin kicks ass. When I get my lightweight rims and better tires it will be even better.
Thanks for checking this out. I just had to post some photo's for you guys to see and give some of my 2nd gen buddies some insight.
