Hard to shift in 5th and reverse

This problem slowly increase with time.
but this morning I couldn't shift into 5th and reverse was very hard to get into.
You can feel it there, but can't reach it
    first to fourth, no problem.

My guess its a cable related problem

I havent finish doing a search, but anyone could give me a head up.

Cable strech bro. pull off the plastics around the shifter, u will see where the end of the cable is held with one of those clips like on the brake hose. right on the other side of that there is a cable slack adjuster on the BF gtx(not there on bg 4wd). tighten those up a little till the slack is gone.

before doing this, pop the hood and check the condition of the bushings on the tranny end of the cables. if they are all rotted out and missing then thats your reason for slack
