What suspension are you using and how do you like it?

    Here's my setup.

front - Kei Office coilovers with 450lb springs
rear - ghetto subaru coils with 350lb springs

I think it's pretty terrible. Way too stiff for daily driving. I have the stock suspension still but the rear struts are shot. Debating on just getting some new springs.

So, what are you guys running on your awd's.. and post some ride height pics if you got them please.

GT-X front springs USDM 4wd AT rear springs and Tokiko S/Rs all around.

Could be a little stiffer maybe, especially in the back, but really it's quite nice for my daily needs. It frequently sees some bad gravel roads.

      bone stock.

      struts are shot.

      stock ride height.

450F/350R is way to stiff, unless you're going for autoX/HPDE driving.

I'd say closer to 300F/200R would be the most you want to go for a DD, maybe even less.

Street car runs Tokicos/Whiteline at about 280/190.

haha, don't i know it. and the PO used to have even stiffer springs.

i'm looking at the ford escort gt megan racing springs. 2" drop 300/250lbs seems good. wouldn't mind a little stiffer for autocross.

that would probably be ok for autoX. I never tried it in either of my 4WD's yet, so I dunno how they'd handle. I should try it sometime!

i had the escort zx2 s/r suspension (struts and eibach springs) on my AWD. It was awesome for street driving, i loved it.

This is what I have on my BG, along with some strut tower bars and tie bars. I'm thinking of going the same way with the 4WD. Not sure yet.

My goal is a kind of DD with some off road hops. I haven't seen a lot offered for the 4WD as far as tie bars and such so hope something comes around. Maybe a GB for some bushings, tie bars, sway bars, something.

I have Mx3 H&R springs with KYB GR2s, it's way too soft. I had to put in rubber spacers to keep it from bottoming out constantly.

that's the kinda gold i'm after.

i got some 12" 200lb springs from a rally buddy. gonna toss those on the rear to replace the 350lb sprngs. i am just wondering if 200lb is too soft.

he had a set of 300/250's that he sold. grrrr.

I ran 180 ln in the back of my GTX rallycar and they weren't too soft for that app. Ya might wanna run harder than that for autocross, but as a DD it was fine and was better able to handle thrash on logging roads than when it had stiffer springs than that.

300f/200r are the standard spring rates for BG chassis ground control coilover sleeve kits. the AWD really isnt THAT much heavier than the FWD. the S/R suspension i had on mine came off of my old escort GT, both cars handled about the same with it. therefore, i'd say those 200# rear springs should work fine in the back, switch the 350# rear springs onto your front coilovers if they fit... and call it good.

That would be awesome if my rear springs were 2.25 instead of 2.50.

so I got some 12" 200lb springs to replace the 10" 350lb rear springs any idea what the extra 2" will do to the ride height? i can change the perch height so i don't think it's an issue, just wondering.

that sucks about the spring diameter!

the new springs are practically half the stiffness of the others, so they are definitely going to compress farther. Probably not 2" more, but I'm sure it will be within your available range of adjustment. Just measure your ride height now and adjust to match if you want it to be the same...

also i have a feeling that 450f/200r will probably understeer like a beeeyotch. might want to start looking for something softer to put up front lol
