CT/RI/MA people - Drag racing at Thompson Speedway 10/24 !!

THOMPSON SPEEDWAY OCTOBER 24TH! It's official! We'll be going to Thompson for a Sunday afternoon show the week after our Nats. We can't begin to tell you how excited we are to bring the HDRA up there. With your support, this will be a great show, and will most likely lead to weekly mid-week events for 2011. We are putting the schedule together right now, but so far this is what it looks like:
Test & Tune will be at 12 noon, with the gates opening at approximately 10am. The plan is to have the show over by 5pm or so. While we plan on running the 3 Eliminators that we ran at Waterford ("Comp", "Street", and "Bike"), we may add a Shootout and/or some index racing as well. We'll post any additions or changes here if and when they come up.
This is right down the road from my parents old house, and only a few minutes from where I live now. 100' drags sound kind of lame, but hey its local and only $20. You get to work on your launch and R/T, which is the most critical part of a drag race anyway. My friend did it a few years ago in his 11 sec RWD Corolla at Waterford, he said it was actually pretty fun.

The address of the speedway is 205 E Thompson Rd, Thompson, CT. I should be there no matter what... hopefully racing the escort, but worst case I'll be watching. If you want to make sure you find me, just PM me for my cell number. Make sure you tell all your friends... the better the turnout is, the more likely that they will have weekly events next year.

I've also heard a few rumors here and there about potentially building a REAL drag strip at Thompson. They have enough land, as there used to be quite a road course there. If this event really takes off it might help the cause... *fingers crossed*.

100' drags are fun, I used to do that at Waterford with the Miata
