    removing rear-view mirror/sunroof crank

    noob question but i would rather ask before i break something because im not sure how the rear-view mirror and sunroof crank assembly come off. any help?
    88 Mazda GTX- rusted dalmation, it runs?
    00 Ford ZX2- red terd, mods: slow

    Sunroof crank has a screw attached,rearview mirror gets pulled toward you iirc.

      i thought the mirror was attached like that from the little clip thing on the back but wasnt sure....thanks.

        this still seems oddly wrong, can someone verify you have to pull it because i still cant get it off haha.

          Take off the whole sunroof/map light assembly. I vaguely remember a screw under there from when I took it off like 4 years ago.. I don't remember for sure though.

            you have to take the mirror off to get the sunroof light assembly off.

              I stand corrected. It's been awhile, and I keep forgetting to look.

                Push the mirror towards the windshield (carefully). Getting it back on, however, sucks. Sometimes I get it on the first try, sometimes on the 20th. Alcohol may have been involved though.

                    got it out by pushing it towards the windshield. however i think im gonna have to pull the headliner because the sunroof isnt going in/out all the way, i think the hinges need some work.
