Well i haven't been around much lately life is busy as hell but i still am hiding in the Mazda family in some twisted form, figured id start up a log on my newest toy plus show it off a lil, i actually like it more than any of my proteges Ive owned

Full load besides leather
already been Lowered,
painted Viper blue, they did a decent job on the paint but for what ever reason he didn't do the jambs under the hood but all other jambs where done,
cold air intake,
short shifter,
Remote start alarm but wasn't installed just came with the car
the ugly white gauges went buh byes as soon as i got the car (but broke the temp needle removing the gauges) OOPS still need to replace that someday

Ive had it about 3 months now did the water pump in the guys driveway along with new timing belt with all the pulleys and crap for the belt.

to do in the future
replace windshield stupid solid crack from bottom drivers corner all the way up to the rear view mirror

tearing the carpet out this week sometime to do my magic clean up on it i finally vacuumed it out for the first time yesterday

id like to do a few more things but basically want it almost stock

thats most paint jobs.. ide just get some viper blue spraypaint and when u have a reason to pull the motor or remove everything from the sides of the bay spray it.. thats what i do

10-27-2010, 05:30 PM
Welcome back to the game! Hope to see some super clean interior pics soon! :)

10-27-2010, 10:00 PM
Well here's the cleanup of the carpet few stains wouldn't budge but hell of alot better than when i started the drivers side WAS way worse than the passanger side before i stopped to take pictures

10-28-2010, 06:07 AM
I have a mazda vc if you want ;)

10-28-2010, 11:08 PM
sweet looks good man! i wish i had taken my 626s carpet out lol, i just went to the car wash when i first got it and power washed and vac'ed it lol.

i've heard ppl using The Right Stuff for the VC gaskets and have no leaking issues, i used some high temp rvt and new gaskets and still leaks :(

I just got the cheap gaskets from rockauto and used some permatex ultra-black and my VC's are super sealed.. No leaks but its bitch to get them off if u need to lol.

Did u clean the **** of the gasket surface with brake clean and a razor blade?

10-30-2010, 11:27 PM
i didn't use brake cleaner, but yea i did use a chemical cleaner before applying the gaskets and sealer.

probe looks good man.

but fix the damn wheels! i cant believe no one else mentioned it. u have every wheel on backwords. there directional.

11-09-2010, 11:01 AM
LOL im not dismounting every freaking tire off the rims to change it!!!! the tires are also directional and currently correctly installed the bastards want 15 bucks a tire to mount and dismount them and then 8 bucks a piece to balance LOL ill let em look goofy till i A: sell it B: tires wear out and most who know me A: will come way before B: will (yes chris i was prepared for your smartass comment)

11-09-2010, 11:04 AM
Directional wheels in the wrong direction irks the hell out of me... I used to work @ a tire shop and I'd yell @ the old guys for it cuz they "didnt see any difference" lol

04-05-2011, 02:08 AM
well i bought a house a few months ago and since i now have a garage to play in i Sold the blue probe!!!! but i did it on purpose the mpg was killing me and the traffic stops kinda suck too, but i kept my backwards installed rims n tires.... since i replaced it with a 97 Probe 4cyl auto trans 132k had a twice fried over auto trans in it.... had reverse and 2 forward gears 2nd and over drive so you had to start off in second tach rev and hit over drive, as long as you never had to come below 90k it would be fine drove it home 7 miles that way. started the auto to manual swap about a month ago, sadly im STILL not done...... im trying to do the swap as if it never had a auto trans in it ever. so when this one gets sold i can get premium dollar... so i changed wiring harness, computer everything that was auto related has come off....
so far installed is trans, drivers cv axle, pass jackshaft, all the mounts and cross-members, shifter, pedals, wiring, computer, interior is all reassembled from tear down,

trans and all the externals came from a 95 mx6 with 78K, clutch and flywheel came from a 2003 protege5 with 21k wiring and comp came from a 97 626 with over 400K LOL
my list to pick up still to finish the job

1. passenger cv axle (one i got from the jy had split boot, new boot cost more than a used cv axle at another yard)
2. Distributor --- i need the cap in coil one mine has the external coil so of course wiring doesn't match
3. the whole air box again auto to manual aren't even close to design or plugs
4. small chunk of wiring for the engine harness to body harness plug is too short same plug but its about 4 inches to short so i have to make a 6" adapter from my old auto harness and a chunk off the parts car to close that gap and look OEM
5. upper o2 sensor manual trans has a 3 wire up top and 4 wire below auto trans has 2 4 wire o2 sensors (i have a 3 wire but again want oem look and the stupid plug is backwards on my 3 wire)
6. both slave and master for the clutch ones i have for the life of me WILL NOT pump up solid i can push the pedal to the floor, release and it stays half down but can go push the slave in and return the pedal to its correct placement.. I've gone thru 2 bottles of fluid trying to get it solid. even tried a vacuum pump bleeder and nothing changes from what its at now..

but everything else is installed ready for a few stupid little parts.

04-05-2011, 10:35 AM
your the 1st person ive ever heard of that sold a GT to get a base model. lol. usually its the opposite.

04-05-2011, 09:57 PM
Hahahaha ya i know gotta do what ya have to do with these gas prices!!!! And well if I go with the v6 again it's gonna be a 626 so I can actually use the whole car!!!

04-05-2011, 10:32 PM
for sure. my DD beater car is a 97 626 with the KL v6 and a mtx. very hard car to find. and im pretty happy with it. but i do miss my old probe. :(

04-05-2011, 10:38 PM
Hahahahaha there's tons of the v6 626 manuals around here they are everywhere now try finding a mx6, probe, 626 4cyl with a manual!!!! all I can find around here is the crapbox sludgeomatic I got freaking lucky finding a manual 97 626 for wiring and comp!!!

04-06-2011, 09:08 PM
nice score! I would have loved to picked up my 626 in a 4cyl manual myself, better mpg and easier to work on in my mind...KLs can be a headache at times.
