    WORLD_domination's beater to TA racer

    Well, to start I got the car for free! so cant beat the price lol. Its a 1994 mazda protege dx 5 speed with a grim reaper and green flames on the hood and fenders. Now you know why it was free! lmao. Anyways, Im going to turn this car into a enth TA car for practice mostly. My plans include, KYB gr-2 stuts, H&R springs, ST or addco swaybars, MS struts brace(s), miata rims, conti tires, and all other suspension components freshed up. After this I plan to aquire LX seats, and rear disc brakes. After all this PAINT for sure jet black During all this im going to pick up a BP and G trans from the junkyard and start building it out of the car. I get the hook ups for machine work and engine internals so im going to build it up to be turbo ready about 300hp or so. Nothing crazy really Ill post some pictures of the car when i get a good photo of her if one exsists atm. I have the struts and springs on the way ill post pictures when i install them as well.

    Welcome to cp. Grab the mx3 seats. The ones with attached unmovable headrests. They're designed by racaro and sit 2 inches lower with more side support. You'll be happy you did

      nice are they pretty easy to find? Are they on the gs model only?

        Both models. I believe 92-93 had them. 94+ had detachable headrests

          nice i just looked up the pictures they do look sweet ive seen a couple in my local junkyard never thought to check the seats out.

                I had a set of those in my pink 93, they felt a lot taller than the 94+ style and were less comfortable. the only car I have without the 94+ seats is my Miata, lol

                    Found a shop near my work thanks to this site that does tie bars, custom rear suspension arms and a few other things for egt and BG's I may go check them out next time im at work

                          yup they have some pretty cool stuff. I just added the sway bars and front end bushings to the order I put in. After Rims and tires Im going with cusco camber plates in the front and the pierce motorsports rear control arms for alignment reasons. Once the suspension, brakes, and wheels are competely dialed in ill grab a BP and trans and start with the interior repairs. Doors panels are trash seats are trash, carpets trashed and the roof cover is destroyed. the dash is in good shape and everything works. trunks gutted already. The b8-me in the car is actually pretty good for its milege. Should be good for a little while longer. once i get into work ill get some pictures

                            Ok I have many questions i went and scouted pick and pull today. found a mercury capri xr2 i believe has a B6T that looks like its in pretty decent shape all the filters where new and the oil was brand new! Not to mention clean spark plugs . Anyways im planning to pull it on half off day with a BP. Now would that b6t be a good swap in a protege? i know its the same trans but how does the rest line up? Ill prolly just hold on to the engine and clean it up. Anyways for the BP search I found 1 auto protege 2 auto egt with decent looking engines. what are the differences on the auto bp? odviously the ecu is a no go. what about the rest harness and connector wise? are the fords any different? everything else i was looking for i found including mx3 seats i just have to go remove it all. Thanks in advance

                              Bp is 125hp and b6t is 130(IIRC). Not much of an upgrade.

                              Ford bp is mostly small nose crank with no mbsp

                              Auto harness I'm not 100% sure on but I think its not worth the time
