    I need guidance

My speedometer is grinding like crazy, and the needle is bouncing. It goes away as the cabin warms up...

Is it necessary to remove the steering wheel to remove the cluster and cable? I don't have a wheel puller, I can get one if I need to.

I know I need to grease the cable (I have white lithium grease) and check for fraying of the cable but I don't know exactly where to look I need some descriptions.

    Guidance/tips/help/info

    Thanks

well i would do the easiest thing first. pop the hood and find your speedo cable where it goes to the tranny. up about a foot there should be a connector. take that apart, hold it as high as you can and try lubeing that first.

if it didnt work then u may have to pull the cluster, this can be done with out removing the steering wheel or multi-function switch. just take your time and dont pull on anything to hard or you crack plastics

Thanks, I pulled out the cluster and greased the speedo cable. We will see tomorrow morning if it makes noise. I drove it right after and it works, still bounces but no noise. I also put in my alarms status blinker. I put it in one of the empty switch holes in the cluster plastic looks great.

Update: Have had no noise problems since the grease-ing
