    Hks intake filter problem.

IF you know the HKS power flow intake system, you know it consist of the 4 components shown below. I know HKS is a premier performance company, but even the best of the best make mistakes.

I recently dyno and tuned my Bp, the engine made great power. I was so happy with all the results because I felt like the numbers spoke for all the work I done. I got home and started looking my motor over, I took a glance at my HKS INTAKE FILTER (which is mounted under the driver side headlight) and notice that more than 75% of the filtering element was missing,(sucked in by the turbo) I was scared sh*tless. I removed the piping and there was alot of the element caught in the intercooler. The motor runs fine, but what if it didn't? I heard of this problem before, but with so many knockoff companies out there, I thought "Nuh, not HKS, maybe is one of those fake HKS filters''. I told a buddy of mine that works on EVOS and he said he had customers with the same problem more than once. I love HKS for the products they put out and the research that they've done. But for me to have this problem with a product thats been circulating for so many years, raises a doubt. But never the less HKS IS HKS, but I will never recommend this intake filter to anyone with a turbocharger. And if anyone on this forum is using one or know someone that is using one, I suggest you remove it a.s.a.p. Someone told me HKS stood For Hong Kong Sh*t. lol
Please fill me in on your thoughts or experiences with this filter.

Hong kong ****.. lmao and it sounds to be true. I wouldn't trust a foam sponge type filter down here with all the damn sand floating around, not good for the turbo's wheels.

How old is that filter? i'm willing to bet its just breaking down due to age, like an old sponge or something.

AEM and K&N are great if you care for them properly.
