Ok my buddy has a 1986 Mazda 323 GTX hatch with the awd B6T. He bought the car without a gearbox. He bought a gearbox from a newer model 323 (BPT I think) but the wiring for the AWD setup was different. We are trying to mate it to the original harness, but we found that the internal switches in the gearbox are not switching over when the switching motor operates. Neither does the 'Center Diff lock Sw" We simulated the switches with a toggle switch but we not sure if this is working properly.
Can anyone help in explaining how the system works? Will the system switch modes while the car is staionary or does the car need to move to engage?
