    Metal Sunroof

    Hi,

Sadley my GTX has a sunroof, but I don't have to patch the sunroof hole if there is a metal one vs the glass oen I currently have. Did the BF 323 ever come with a metal one vs glass one?

    Thanks.

North American gtx's came with metal, manual crank sunroofs. Other countries got other options, AU got glass power and so did japan. Good news is that any BG chassis sunroof fits and the plugs are already there for the power so proteges had power, solid roofs and EGT's had power glass roofs.

Are you saying glass EGT sunroofs should bolt in to my BF GTX?

I think BF 323 ever come with a glass one,but metal one's not available for this system.

Uh... for one, what? For 2 all the USDM cars came with metal sunroofs.. 3 of the 5 GTX's I have owned came with sunroofs and 100% of them are metal.

My power glass roof came out of a 1987 323 GT hatchback (pretty hard to find), so some '86-87 sunroofs were power glass. All GTX were metal sunroof (manual), unless you were lucky enough to find a non-sunroof GTX. The Protege roofs were all glass, and will fit, as is the EGT as stated above

I owned a 1991 Protege GT (that I should never have sold), and a 1994 SE. Both came with power glass.

You bought these right off the dealer lot, so you are absolutely, 100% certain, without any shadow of a doubt, going to wage a sum of money on it, your first born, swear up and down it's the gospel truth?

Ocuh.... LOL.... All I know is that I'm glad that I swapped out my metal sunroof for an EGT glass. Been diggin' it ever since.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Oh, and "could be" in response to the Canuckistan-thing comment.

323GTX-RSA - Sadly they never sold the '86-87 GTX on out side of the pond. A few full-blown rally cars have been brought here though.

Yes. The assemblies are identical. But a connector or two will need a gender change.

                              Easy.
