fuel tank help for bf gtx

i've been trying to find fuel tanks to replace mine (leat at the top). i can't really find any because every one so far is for any model EXCEPT a gtx. and then i found this:

my question is will any fuel tank interchange between the models as this is saying, OR is it basically that the fwd models fuel tank don't fit the awd gtx, but the awd gtx fuel tank fits the fwd?

The tank pictured is for 2wd and will not fit a 4wd chasis. It leaves no space for the driveshaft to pass through. 4wd tanks are easily identifiable since they have two fuel pumps. I would ask that seller if he has both available.

Could it be possible to patch your tank?

I have a gtx tank here, but of course I'm on the wrong side of the country and I bet shipping would be spendy. What exactly is wrong with yours?
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

well i was told by the seller that if i fill the tank completely a small leak happens but it can't be seen on the filler neck at all. i haven't tried to fill it fully yet. i go to 3/4 and don't see any problems. i just don't want there to be a fuel pressure issue if there is in fact a leak at the top of the tank. i've had to patch a fuel tank in a previous dsm i had with no problems so i might just do it to this one if i can get to it easily. this car is mostly going to be used as a daily driver and weekend racer as well so i'd like to get something done. a fuel cell is another possibility.

just wondering who got em and what condition they were in. I really wanted to buy the caged one and swap all my Protege 4wd parts into it but i couldnt get up there to NH fast enough. Im stuck working in hawaii right now but does your friend have any plans for the caged car?

i can definitely tell you it was an awesome deal. the head gasket was replaced and the car rips hard. everything on both of the cars is pretty much perfect and for a new england car, both are near 100 percent rust free surprisingly. my buddy plans on using it for rally, winter and autocross. the guy we got the cars from was awesome though and he was given 6 stock wheels with r compounds and 4 stock wheels with michelin rally tires. i got 4 stock wheels with snows and 4 more stock wheels with michelin rally tires. the deal was almost too good to be true i was surprised.

Ahhh... I knew it. Tell your buddy I'll buy the caged car from him if he changes his mind.

he's about to do a t25 or t28dbb and make it a perfect rally-x car. he'll never let it go cheap at this point.
