    protege bug eye grill...

ok, you know how they have the bug eye grills for the proteges...? im gonna make a bug eye grill for a bf 323. but i dont really know where to find the right fog lights. i figure since the grill is roughly 4.5 inches tall, i could go around 3.5 inch diameter lights, anybody know where to find some cool lookin fog lights that are readily available...

there is this cool thing at work and you can kind of copy a mold with plastic... im an electrician at a plastic factory... anyway, you can take whatever you want and pull warm plastic around it. so i was gonna take a grill and make a copy of it, and then in that drill some holes for the lights to fit in, and then make another copy of that, and it would be a mold for making a real grill out of fiberglass. i dont know when exactly i will make my first attempt because im pretty busy with a million other projects at the moment, but i am going to do it, i've checked ebay for fog lights and all the part stores around town, and nobody in town has anything like i want, and nobody on ebay has any real dimensions of anything so any help would be appreciated, thanks

Sounds like a good idea. While you're at it, make a mold for the protege grill as well. Thanks!

Not really a "bug eye", but I'm thinking of NOT installing it. It seems too restrictive for radiator air flow.

Interesting you should ask. I once had the thought of fabricating mesh inserts which I could pop-in in place of the lamps during the warm months and then go back to the lamps during the cold period -like with winter/summer tires. After more thought it just seemed to be a hassle and more importantly, I don't want to part with the honeycomb mesh on the standard grill.

Straight answer: No plans for the fog light grill. It's just collecting dust. Yours for 75$. No idea what the postage would be, but I could get a quote.

I know exactly what you mean. I've also got a bit of the "I made that" syndrome and also dig round fog lights, but I want mine to be yellow and mounted in a GTR bumper.

Anyone know the diameter of GTR bumper lamps?
