ok me and intruder just spent like the past 6 hours or so ( i think ) talking turbo and basically we ahve come to the conclusion that we are just going to build up our own kits. He will be doing the 1.8 swap and Im sticking with the 1.5 (i know what you are thinking so dont go there) but basically Im asking the question of besides the exaust mani and downpipe is there really anything else that needs to be custom done... I mean I know the pipes and what not...

Also we have exaust mani, BOV, turbo, piping, intercooler, downpipe, wont need a wastegate since the t25 is internal (right?), and he will also need a tranny cooler since he has an auto... are there any other big stuff that needs to be listed? I know im gonna need oil lines and stuff but basically I want this thread to be mine and his turbo project thread and yea we understand it but still I personally would still like to get some help....

i dont think I'll need to get a fuel pump... maybe just replace it with a new one becuase I plan to only run like 5psi at most since the engine is weak.

rising fuel rate full pressure regulator... that the same as an FMU? vif so I thought I could just get bigger injectors and it did the same effect since all it does is up the PSI on the fuel in.... and since its the same concept, i thought 5psi would make me fine... but if you say I need it, then thats a ok with me....

Well I know that right now I am not going to upgrade the fuel pumps, but just get a FMU. You might want to consider getting more than just the boost and air/fuel gauges. My gauge setup will be volt (already in, because of big stereo), air fuel, boost, oil pressure, oil temperature.

It sounds like you have a pretty complete list of things that you need. One thing you didn't list was a boost controller.

Could you tell me what the point of a turbo timer is? I think it changes the amount of boost in each gear, or not? I don't know somebody clear this up for me.

no its so it cools down after the car shuts off..... like it keeps putting oil threw the turbo after the car is shut off so it doesnt burn up. and it does it for a time that you tell it

as for the boost controller... i really have no idea what it does except tells the system to **** off and makes it stayat the preset boost level... 5 in my case

I think this thread is gonna turn in to like turbo 101 and thats a ok with me... I dont remember seeing another one in the forum... all other threads were for specific stuff.

Hmmm....now I have to find a place to mount it. I am really going to be pressed for room since I have to add a 3" tach to the whole deal.

BTW you could ge thtis if you wanted to it shows the RPMS and speedo and other stuff that we need to show minue boost
