    j-spec mx-3 (AUTOZAM AZ-3) SOON TURBO

    I recently joined this forum and i'm very happy with all the respect that goes on in here. I've decided to do a right up on my 1993 autozam az-3 (mx-3 rs). It's a right hand drive b5 dohc 1.5 L engine. i recently completed swapping out all the suspension work, most of the bushings, new clutch,cv axles and a new gearbox since i crushed the original(to much race changing)lol...anyway hear are some pics of the car and current work done to this day...look forward to some replies. My ultimate goal is to turbo charge this engine or go wit a bpd swap.i dont want a drag strip monster just a fun car to drive on the streets..We dont really have highways down here so top speed is not the goal..more handling due to the many corners and rough road..i shall post a video once my car is operational.

    sorry the pics are so big there from my black berry dont know why they came out so huge...uhmm PIC1:drop zone lowering springs PIC2: Fujitsubo exhaust(JAPAN BABY, with 2 1/4 piping all the way to the cat) PIC 3: 214/45/16 falken azenis rt-615's PIC 4: 6000 k HID Bi-xenon headlights PIC5: autozam steering wheel so rare PIC 6: mazda speed air filter PIC 7: tires again and last pic is of the engine bay all closed up..new belts seals should have sprayed the head i know....but will do when car goes to the body shop..

    I like it. I have the regular Mazda version of that steering wheel. What struts are those?

        You sure that's a b5? Looks just like a bp05 dohc 1.8. Even the intake manifold looks like a bp05. What does the side of the head read? The distributor side. If it says "bp05-???" Then you have a 1.8l bp. Turboing the 1.8 is a. Breeze

          which tails do you have? full light up or the rectangle ones?

            yeh B5......just checked it on the engine block...............wish it was a BP..lol...nope just a little1.5 dohc.....but she pulls so nicely..................

                nice car, but HUGE ASS PICTURES MAN!!!

                yes ppl that is the 1.5 DOHC engine that comes in our JDM BGs "interplays" notice the MAF instead of VAF...there's a few other differences, but hard to tell from eye balling it...

                  thanks..i know about the pics..lol..but i'm planning to either turbo charge this engine or go wit a bpd swap.....like i said i dont want all out power..just some more power as well as balance..when i post the video of our roads and the amount of corners etc then u all will understand where i'm coming from

                    bpd swap would be awesome, you're referring to the GTR engine? or just a regular n/a BP engine? Either way, both would be an upgrade...I wasn't sure if there was turbo stuff for the 1.5 DOHC or not...does it resemble the B6 dohc?

                      im taking about the jdm gt-x engine..the gt-r is so rare and hard to find if i do find out one though u will be the first to know....turbo baby....lol,,,its more or less a b6 dohc just 1.5L..so everything else form a b6t should bolt up........but i want more power...so im goin wit a bp-t 1.8L turbo

                        gotcha, just sometimes the GTR engine is referred as the BPD. The GTX engine would be a nice increase in power, as I'm sure the B5 isn't as powerful as a BP.

                          That B5 is a sick engine though!! I wish I could get my hands on one here! If you swap out the engine you should sell me the engine computer and wiring harness!

                            i'd imagine the B5 engine computer and wiring harness, as well as the MAF would be the same as a B6 dohc mx-3

                              no not as powerful but wit the ecu set up from japan my b5 makes 117 bhp which isnt to bad....
