first off the intake cam pin goes where the I tab is, and the exhaust cam goes where the E tab is... why it ran is beyond me...lol... each tooth is like 21 degree's i think, so you can only compensate so much with the disty....

i can change the exhaust gear to the e but the cam shaft is 90 degrees out ... i have the crank at tdc and thats where the cams stoped they should be how it is in the diagram when the crank is at tdc so on my car it seems the cams are 90 degrees advanced

ok but have you tried alteast putting it back together normal and see what it does? they could have moved when you removed the belt, from the push off the valve springs....

ya they dont always stay where theyre supposed to, i usually use 2 15mm gear wrenchs and hook them on the opposite pulley to keep them inline till i get the belt on... if your fast enough sometimes they will stay for a minute or two, usually long enough to get the belt back on tho....

yea i have no clue how the car ran with the cam settings that far off, that's kind of amazing lol. As for valve/piston damage the b6t should be a non interference, so no damage should occur even if you break your timing belt.

okay well when the crank is in this position in the pic it is at bdc and 2 and 3 are at tdc...so if i turned the crank 360 degrees number one should be at tdc ?? and both valves are closed on number one cylinder as well.

yes one and four are both at the bottom so im just assuming its set up at bdc because as long as there is a mark on the crank and the cams to zero them together it really doesnt matter where they are but for timming number one had to be at the top i know that one ..... im just gona go by what the mani says ... it doesnt says where number one is when you are setting this up anyways
