Anyone in Ontario harboring a GTX parts car?

    Hi,

I know quite a few miata friends with miata parts cars filling their garages, barns and back yards.

I'm curious to know, are there are any similar GTX guys around ontario?

    Thanks!

    Nik

I'm slowly putting my GTX back together, I've debated on getting a miata tranny and converting my GTX to just RWD

      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

That's a Mazda thing, not GTX specific haha. We're all borderline hoarders...

Better to go BPT with the newer tranny/viscous centre diff, and be done with it. I have seen the RWD conversion on a GTX, and it is neat, but there are better RWD choices out there. Do a search for Greg Ds '88 BPT GTX lapping at a road coarse in the Seattle/Portland area. It is inspiring of how good a sorted GTX can be

Oh I agree there are better options for a RWD conversion, I may never do the conversion since I would only do it if the stock tranny blew on me

I like all the canadian/ontarian members on here!

The reason I asked, I'm debating whether or not to remove my rear-subframe and clean up all the rust and treat the metal and reinstall ... or, replace the whole subframe all together. For some reason, the only real rust problem on my GTX is the rear subframe.

So if someone nearish to me had a rear-subframe in good condition that is on a parts car, I'd consider buying it off them.

Mine is off the car right now. I have one spare from a wrecked GTX, but the stabilizer bar mounts were so thin & rusted that one of them came off with the bar. I am going to media blast, and powder coat it before putting it back on.
