Calling all BF with BPT conversion owners

Have any of you guys encountered this ?!?!

Just has me completely lost on why this is happening.

This is AFTER all the usual mentioned modified top passenger-side mount, redrill the front lower tranny mount holes on crossmember etc . . to get a GTR swap into a BF.

I notched all the crossmember holes and must've lowered & raised this thing a 100 times trying to adjust, and I simply cannot seem to get the driveshaft to line up straight where it bolts to the tranny !!

    Is this normal ?? . . What am I doing wrong ??

The block needs to tilt forward compared to the original setup. So one way or another, you have to clock the block to the tailshaft come out more or less parallel to the ground, or at least closer than it is right now. it doesn't have to be spot on; there's some wiggle room in that Ujoint, but straighter is better. Welcome to driveline-that-didn't-come-with-the-car install hell. You can have my seat by the unholy flame pit; my running gear is in, I hope.

That does look a bit off, like jay said about the tilt. You should fire off some pics of the pass side and motor itself. My motor sits so low I had to grind some material off the cradle cause the tranny was sitting on it.Take a peek at yours. Not that I'm sayin mines right mind ya,but it works good. You did use the existing holes in the rear cradle yeah?

you got me wondering now, heres my driveshaft, side mount and front mount

a little off, but i figure thats why its a joint and not a fixed shaft

redrilled to the passengar side, i also slotted the 2 bolts on the crossmember a little to allow for just a bit more and that helped straighten the front mount

I wish I had a comparable undercar shot of my gtx. Cuz whatever the angle was, worked well enough...

my front mount is like yours on the cradle. It looks like you were able to use the b6t mounts on the pass. side, yeah?I ended up using the bp engine mount with the modified b6t body mount.Dude you've got a crap load of room, frame rail to motor! It does'nt look like you had to notch the rail. How did you get away with that?

i did hammer the rail in a little bit but only right near the altenator for belt clearance

Hey turbojace,I just checked I use a front mount (the round rubber filled one)I'll call it a "isolator", with a very short riser on it(less than 1/2").The b6ts" isolator "has about 1"riser that lifts the front motor.I think the short one came from either a gtx bpt or a gtr bpt.It probably is a common "isolator".The metal mount bolts to the motor normally, but is redrilled high up till the "isolator"touches or next to touches the metal motor mount. This allows the motor to drop down further. The metal motor mount had to be cut where the original bolt holes connect to the isolator, cause it would hit the lower cradle.Hope that makes sense.lol.Good luck. Nick.Oh, by the way the drive shaft & rear tranny tail are bang on straight,no tilt.,,,,, I just added this , I think there is a reenforcement piece on the metal motor mount that has to be removed to allow the "isolator"to be placed higher up

                    Hey fellas

Appreciate all the ideas and suggestions.

Unfortunately got that call from the job "Wanna come in for some overtime ?" . . Needless to say that initial picture I posted above was the last time I saw my car during daylight hours, lol.

Anyway Nickz, will definetly check out that front-tranny-mount idea you mentioned.

Also trailrider, I cut and re-welded the 3-hole part of the passenger side bracket and moved it over about a inch on the outter round portion of the top mount. Still has a slight "stretch" on the rubber. Might just have to redo based on your photo above. . . hmmm. Cause your sit perrrrfectly straight !

i have a hard time understanding why people have so much trouble with this(not being a smart ass) when i did mine, i used the stock pan under the motor. but i think i remember using a BG motor mount on the rear motor mount... not 100 percent sure cause i did it more than 5 years ago. anyway, it sat in there perfect. and then i leveled the motor out and built a passenger side motor mount. and then moved on to the tranny. all went easy as pie
