    5th injector?

Hey everyone iv been looking into 5th injectors there is some stuff out there about it, what im looking for is a good write up on it, some pics where to run wires for the injector, I was thinking using the overboost switch that i will not be using and hook the 5th injector up to that and the plumbing for the fuel just run a banjo fitting off the fuel line after the FPR. Reason for doing this not enough cash to buy a ms or upgraded ecu. I want to run more boost on my b6t but dont want to run it lean ... yes i have a b6t in my escort gt fastest and cheapest way to go turbo more info on the build in my link so if you have any info that would be great

I've done it before, it doesnt work very well. The fuel all goes to the outside cylinders and the inside 2 starve like crazy. I had crazy pitting on cyl 2&3

Here was my setup, run off the boost cut switch

Super ghetto yes, was a loooooong time ago.

Thats why I chose to go the right route and tune the ECU

If you don't pulse the injector you will lose pressure on a stock pump.Get a rising fuel pressure reg. and some inj.from a 2.2 mazda.Even a chipped ecu,I have one available maybe.

Yeah, I think a 5th injector is a cheap easy sloppy way to blow up an engine...

It certainly is. I'm *very* lucky that I didnt blow my engine back in the day.

holy moly!!!lol i done this same exact thing to my capri about 4 years ago!!! it does work great just make sure you have a wide band to keep track of whats going on. i got 24psi on my stock engine and turbo but i dont think the turbo liked it very well, always glowing at night when i ran the car really hard lol but now i have the turbo off the car and getting ready to swap the eng into my 86 323 1.6i car, the stock turbo is still in fantastic shape with no shaft play at all!! after all that abuse and went through 5 trannys in the capri!! lol i think i am going to use a charger off an eclipse a tdo5h,16g?? isnt that what that is, i will be able to run lower boost and everything will be a lil cooler. after i did this 5th injector thing, all of the tuner kids in town started trying this and taking off their fmu lol hey it works if your broke lol if you are using a good electronic boost controller and wide band you should be ok,i used a stock 280zx injector, worked great and was smooth all the way through to 24psi in all gears, just hard on trannys lol well actually the diffs, had to fix that also the cheap way. i built my own 6 gear diff!! has 4 of the small spider gears.hope it stops the exploding diff problem.....

actually jay i did this and it worked very well and my engine ran perfectly stoich at full boost but you have to adjust the timing at the distributor and gap the plugs closer, after i got everything straightened out the car worked well ran great and i could smoke mildly modded srt4s it was a blast to drive excluding the exploding diff problems. when i get that same engine swapped into my 323 i am not gonna run such high boost anymore because the capri weighs 2500lbs and the 323 is way lighter so i think 15psi will be plenty enough with a bigger turbo i am planning to use,but i am not gonna use the 5th injector this time as it does look sloppy lol i am gonna get ecu tuned this time for more reliability and better looks lol

How much boost are you looking to run with what turbo?? I ran 16psi on the stock VJ14 with an ELprototype ecu with stock injectors and never saw my O2 sensor drop lean under heavy running... I am up to 16 psi on a VJ11 now and still no signs of going lean and heavy running..

Sorry dude, you shouldnt ever run above 12-12.5:1 AFR under boost, especially that high of boost. Stoich is no good for boosted cars.

And no, if you read what I have above, the fuel moslty runs to cylinders 1&4 starving 2&3 - This isnt an acceptable method of fuel management.

I'd like to see your modded diff.

Stoich at that boost is a grenade waiting to happen. Just a matter of time.
