I have been having some recent trouble with my wipers ever since my car got broken into. I don't know if it is because of something the a**hole might have done when busting up the dash of my car to steal my stereo, but it's possible that my troubles might just be coincidental.
Regardless, I stopped by the shop to inquire as to what I should do. The problem is that the wipers stop just after they reach the top of the stroke (on their way down) when I'm using the intermittent wiper setting. This is very annoying.
I looked into replacing the motor in case that might be the problem. Come to find out, Mazda discontinued carrying that part. Four other local distributors of such parts don't carry it. NAPA could get the part through one of their suppliers at about $221 a pop. So, the next time I go to the junkyard, I'm going to get me at least one as a back-up and stash it away in the garage. They can be rebuilt but I don't know how much that will cost.
Just thought I'd put out a "heads-up" of sorts in case any of you didn't know yet that this is one more part that is getting harder and harder to find since our cars aren't exactly spring chickens.
I think I found out what the actual problem might be and it might not be the wiper motor, but I'll let you guys know some other time.
