    Fender Bar worth anything ?

I was wondering is you guys ever used the "A" shapped under the fender bars sold on the internet.

The rally car is getting softer and softer every rally and I don't have the 4k right now for full restoration, welding and cage.

    Worth anything?

They go for aroung 160$ a pair.

Never used'em on any cars, but for the AE86, from trusted sources, I've got very very very good reviews of them, if they're made right and redirect the forces at play properly...

I dunno man. I saw this and fwded the link to my local rallycar wizard, and we both think that bolting into what was only coachwork location holes, with 10mm bolts, rather limits their utility. You don't see Mazda holding the lower strut brace with stuff that small. Something like that either needs to be bolted in with 17mm stuff, or more simply, get welded into position.

i have to agree. 10mm bolts arent gonna brace anything worth ****. so if they mounted using 10mm's, id just pass on it.

And what if I just weld it in place? I don't see any reason I would remove it anyway...

You just would wanna make sure that the sheetmetal that's there is thick enough to weld on and have it be worth a damn. I guess if it ain't, then you might wanna layer up the whole area some to spread the load a bit. I kinda think, that any gains to be had with these would be had better, with a real strut bar. One that's triangulated into the firewall, and better yet into the bar behind the dash. Neither of my cars has such a thing, perhaps I should look into doing that at least to the rallycar...
