    94 mx3

    I was wanting to know if there's a way to run a vp motor in a 94 mx3 with out using megasquirt on and what would I have to do to make it run.

    vp motor??? do you mean BP? or v6? either way.. use the search button.

      ahh mazdaguy.. btw i sold my shell.. but yes the bp will bolt up use the search function to find out the details but its not hard at all and you should be able to use the stock BP wiring harness and ecu to run it. i know that info is around here somewhere its been done quite a bit

        Well I see guys having trouble with putting the bp in the 94 mx3.

          im almost positive it bolts right in... no custom mounts or anything.. maybe have to mix n match between the BP mounts and the b8/kl series mounts not exactly sure

            the MX3 uses neither a B8 nor KL...

              I know it will bolt right it's something to do the wiring and making it run there's something in the 94mx3 wiring.

                my bad I get a lil confused on those sometimes.. it was the b6 and k8.. but the KL, B8,BP engines should all bolt in using variations of the stock mounts between all the motors from what i understand..

                i have a friend which we put the KLZE engine in which he has yet to finish the project..

                  Depending what month your car was built will dictate if it is obd1 or obd2. if it is obd1, you can use your stock harness and you just need one wire hooked up for the VRIS. if it is obd2, swap out the engine harness and put in the bp harness and ecu and there are threads to show which wires have to be swapped in the bp harness to work right. pm me and I will help too.

                    which motor came in the model mx3 your looking to swap? the 4cyl or 6cyl?

                    as far as the engine harness you would obviously want to run the BP harness and ecu.. beyond that im not gonna be much help as to what to do with the interior harness plugs going to the ECU and if there is any thing with the power harness..

                    check out mx3.com thats where my friend figured out how to do the KL swap

                        OK iam picking the car up friday and so far what i have found is that because its a 94 i have to swap out the dash wiring with it. If i am wrong let me know guys. But i cant pass up the car it near my house no rust 5 speed and the guy only wants 300 for it. and its dark blue. I did alot of looking up tonight so when i start the swap any help that u guys can give will be great on making it run right on the turbo ecu because the car will be turbo as soon as i put the motor in the car.
