Sneak Peek Of B6T Rebuild (Custom Manifold, TD05 Turbo, DP etc)..Pics

Hey Gang - Hopefully by mid summer I will have this project finally off the ground, for the moment I am mocking up the parts to figure out how best to fit and modify the downpipe and exhaust while retaining the air conditioning (which still works great).

I had the downpipe and exhaust manifold custom made for me 4 years ago and today was the first day I took it out of the box to actually mock it up! For the time being I have selected a TD05 Turbo but may do some more research as to a better turbo to use that is fast spooling and not tail off dramatically after 6,000rpm.

The block will be built with forged JE pistons and there will be extensive head port and polish work done and I have already purchased the Haltech EFI. So it is coming together. My goal is 225-250whp on pump gas.

    Stay tuned.

Good luck! I tried to get the manifold to work with the a/c and front mount, but the plumbing had too many sharp bends and cooling was an issue.

Still, as long as I didn't have to sit in traffic for long, it remained ok.

I know...I am already set to make a custom radiator for it and probably an intercooler while I am it. I have designed several of these custom rads and intercoolers in AutoCAD and will have the end tanks fabbed for me locally here in Houston. Will keep you guys updated. Working on my other project cars before I tear into this bad boy.

Where are you getting your head work/ machine shop work at?

Are you going to oversized valves? Who makes them?

Can't wait to see this all done, when is your eta?

Valve diameters I have not decided on. The headwork will be done by www.whiteheadperformance.com, who have done some incredible work for me in the past. The head will have about 20hours of work alone. ETA is this summer (cross fingers!).

Nothing new sadly...I got wrapped-up in another car project and replacing the roof on my garage...not to worry, I will be back into it as soon as I get some time.
