    B6T variants

So, I have 3 B6Ts, and I don't know the origin of any of them. Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the beefy rod version and the Capri mill? I suppose I could crank up the boost and see where the rods break...

But yeah, one is in the GTX, one in the GT, and one is loose... I would like to run the best one in the GT for now, and turn up the boost a bit.

the one thing i've noticed is there is a slight difference in the oil pans between the FWD and AWD B6T's, if you look back in my worklog i took a pic of the tiny little "tab" i had to cut off in order to clear the AWD tranny, so the B6T in the GTX is originally from a GT

The other thing i know is that the Capri's wiring harness is very different then the 323 ones, if that helps at all

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

4 slots on the face of the crank pulley means short nose, 8 means long nose, and thats about all i know about b6's....lol...

Thanks, I had read your post earlier about the FWD oil pan being different. What I really want to know is do I have 3 engines with the GT/GTX rods. Just toying with ideas and directions on the two builds right now.

Oh one other thing on the GTX, the outer crank pulley is also not original to the engine if there's a difference there lol

Only way to be sure is take off the pans. The 4 slot pulleys were used into 1991. The 8 slot was used on the big nose crank later in the 91 model year in theCapri. Only 88-89 GTX and GT got the bigger rods...and the 87's but we saw none of those.

also. if its off a gtx. preface-lift have different intake manifolds, injectors, ecu and airflow meters to facelift.

you need the correct matching parts to work properly. eg. b660 ecu injectors and airflow meter (preface lift)
or b677 ecu injectors and airflow meter. for facelift.

i dont think you guys had to many preface-lift models sold over there
