How to get more hp?

helllo all i was woundering what some cheap but effective ways to get more power is so far all i done was an aftermarket muffler.and am putting my intake on monday.will i notice any diffrince with the intake? and is there anyother ways to bet more hp for my buck other then a turbo?

With an intake and exhaust combo there should be a noticable difference. Your other non-turbo options are headers, underdrive/lightened pulleys and ground wires. You won't see anything noticable with groundwires though.

the only pulley i've changed was the crank pulley (underdrive)...i grabbed the UR pulley. i've heard of people having problems after changing out their altenator pulley...something about it killing the altenator. once you do an intake, header and cat-back i'd step up to the cams...they claim 12-17hp to the wheels from the cams...not bad for $400.

funny lol i not sure if its a 1.6 cause it seems a little too peppy to be one. it gives a 3.1l a real good go as in side by side then i pulled away in 3rd!

are you sure? If its a 1.6 then ur ****ed unless its stick.

yea its a standard but where do i tell if it's a 1.6? cause it seems like it could be more then a 1.6.

When I test drove a 01 1.6 there was a sticker on the hood that said it was a 1.6. I think thats where it was. If not it was somewhere in the engine bay.
