    es owners

Ever since i got my pro it has had the check engine light on. It's because of the 0xygen sensors[autozone tested it]I'm ordering new ones friday.O.K. my question is what rpm should my es be at while driving 65mph?It runs a little over 3000rpm's @ 65 & 3500 @70mph,it's reved up high.I figure it should be near 1500 or 2000 but I have no clue cause it's been this way since I got it.So can a fellow es [BP!]owner help me out.

i would say that's about right for a manual if that's what you have

good luck with the O2 sensor thing...
because autozone obdii scanner isnt as complex as mazda's, it will say the o2 sensor is the prob. chances are, you will have them changed and things will still be the same. you prolly got the p-170 (or whatever it is) code/Closed loop meaning your running rich. Good luck with that. Ive changed EVERYTHING in my car to fix it...even the ecu! Mazda doesnt even know what the real problem is! There is only suggestions in there computer...no answers. Its just a prob with second gens.
Although, after doing some research, ive found that the intake mani gasket being roughted out is quite often the cause. I have purchase a new one and will be installing when we install my turbo in the next week or two...

Very interesting, good looking out.Any ideal what running rich will do?I already had a hole in my exhaust by the sensor.i figured that might have triggered the code.lovely... just lovely!

Running rich = low fuel economy, ****ty emissions, possibility of eventually plugging your cat.
