    92dx gets a 95 EGT. Welcome home!!

We do BGs right in this house, so she will feel right at home lol. Got it from a 60 year old lady that was the original owner. All receipts and paperwork for repairs ect. Ive been eyeballing this car for almost a year and bugging the hell out of this poor old lady lol! 1000 bucks and some laptop repair later, its MINE!!

No rear wheel arch rust or shock tower rust. Recent new struts and mounts, swaybar links, catback exhaust is new piping and new muffer, bunch of new stuff. Decently clean interior. Shifts like a boss and drives great. 123k.

There is a leaking freeze plug behind the exhaust mani. Flexpipe needs replaced. The disty oring leaks like they all do. Engine bay needs a clean up. Pretty minor stuff. It doesnt high idle on cold start and the temp gauge seems to read low (tiny bit more than 1/4 of the gauge, where is normal on the EGT?), but heat is hot after a few miles of driving. Oh.. and that annoying Ford valve cover lol. Body has its share of small dings and whatnot, but is great for the age. Grandma treated her well, and was sad to see it go, but I assured her it was going into the right hands..lol

Plans are fix the minor stuff, upgrade a few things and keep it stock for the winter, then turbo that bitch next summer lol. VF10 on GTX management. Should be fun for a daily. The red car is about to get stupid, but thats a different thread.. Sadly, I will be getting rid of the grey Pro. It is stupid rusty, and I think Ive reached the local limit of Proteges per household..lol.. I also have a black 91 in the back yard for parts.

Thanks! I highly considered that, but I actually have about 60% of what I need to get the turbo setup going.

thanks guys, Im very happy to have it. Like I said, that poor old woman saw my face at least 3 times a month for almost a year badgering her to sell me this car. She got sick of me lol. Unfortunately I will be driving it in the winter, but I will be treating the underbody and will do my best to keep it from starting to rust up. The red car is gonna be jealous lol.

anyone have any input on the temp gauge reading? Where does the egt gauge sit at temp, the middle? Mine seems to take a while to climb but never gets to the middle. Has a new t-stat and the hose gets hard as the temp rises so its not stuck open. Ill probly get a new sending unit for the gauge, a ford one of course. Ive read that much lol.

I think Ford gauges read toward the low side? My protege always sits in the middle to upper range but the ford clusters I have had sit much lower.

Even with the SC my 95 never even gets to the middle of the temp gauge. I bet your's is reading correct... or mine reads low too? I dunno, but nice score! That car is beautiful. Reminds me of my little brother's black LX after we found black GT bumpers and skirts for it. A black GT is just so much classier than the typical green blue or red ones. Black and white are my two favorites for the EGT.

Oh and if you need a center cap for that left rear, I have a bunch of spares. I even have a full spare set of those 7spokes if you want winter wheels for it.

Interesting on the temp gauge. all my protege temps are at 1/2 always at temp also. I was riding tonight in the egt and it barely got to N in the NORMAL range on the gauge.. Its about 62 ambient. after some "spirited driving" and sitting idle for a few minutes it almost made it to the O.. Ill get a new sender and see what happens for the hell of it. Probly geta new t-stat too. you know when you buy a car, you have to do your own thing to it..then you know what your really working with, even tho I have all the records lol...

thanks I appreciate it. I really was attracted to it because it was black. I honestly never was an egt fan, but its growing on me fast lol. I have one wheel thats curbed up pretty good, but Id hate to ask you to split up a set. what you want for a set, or more so a decent centercap? I really cant see buying a whole rim set atm. I have a set of 15" 5 spoke miata rims in the backyard under a tarp just hanging out lol. lmk.

                        thanks guys for the comments.
