    Yeah, im re-excited!!!

so i was just talkin to a friend who has a 91 crx si. Same mods as me, and we made a bet to see who can have the best set up and run the best lap times in an auto-x race, and have our own little race through some canyons. I know the crx will be a very worthy oponent (sp) but i have a lil bit more money and experience than him. So, I was just gonna as if everyone thinks this setup would be a good setup for this kinda race, for fairly cheap.

    Tokiko s/r's from a ZX2
Eibach 1 1/2" springs or Ground control adjustable coilovers
    (already got the strut bars)
alignment- isnt there a negative balance or sometype of alignment??
Ecsta Supra 205 50 15 tires (if they make that size)
suspension techniques front and rear sway bars
    and corksport rear tie bar
also some light weight rims, slotted rotors, and new brake pads

Please critique this and add any additional info if u have any...thanks!

Might as well go all out...
but it depends on your budget as well

My setup is to include the following withing the next 2 months....

    Mazdaspeed 4-way adjustable struts

    H&R lowering springs(protege)

    Darryl's lower tie bars

darryl's strut tower bars(once they are finished) temporary bars are in place as we speak.

suspension techniques swaybar kit(front and rear)

poly bushing kit front (the whole kit available)

OZ superlegga's I like personally... and their weight is almost unbeatable. choose your own tire size but make sure they are wide.

H&R wheel spacers...(size yet to be determined)

    SS brake lines

    All new calipers all around

All new wheel bearings all around

Rear slotted rotors(drilling them induces cracking)

Front cross drilled and slotted(out to the edge-a DBA special)

Special ceramic brake pads running at a cost of $167.81 for the front.

Kevlar brake pads for the rear

Tread is still yet to be determined-all i know is its gonna be sticky...

Anyways...What you do is in your hands
I believe that our cars can indeed be made to handle better than some piece of **** honda...:D

Oh and an alignment is a must. 4 wheel at that.

      i'd swap....
the Kumhos for Falken Azenis (cheaper and better)
the corksport rear tie bar for one of mine (cheaper and i have them in stock )
the Eibachs for for coilovers (essentially if you go with GC, then the springs are Eibachs anyway..but still very different) 250# front and 200# rear

depends on which Honda and the set-up. even with similar to identical setups, some hondas will drive circles around a Protege. Given the drivers are equal. The 89-91 Civic comes to mind.

though honda's do have a bad rep, some of them can whoop us. i mean 16yo riceboys, they are no competition, but the older guys with the know-how will demolish most of us. it is all about respect.

The friend with the crx, is not a very good driver when it comes to the track. He has only drag racing experience. Im a better driver so im pretty confident that i will beat him.

Where can i get the Falken Azenis?? I havent found them anywhjere.

damn.. You rack up the total yet ? Sounds like one hell of a number. However, I'm interested in how much you paid for your wheel bearings, and poly bushings, I have 203k on my car so it needs every bushing made for the car lol. I'm going to swap out a lot of stuff when I get some cash though, like the rear spindles and stuff everything is pretty corroded under there. My brake lines are starting to scare me.

roughly around $2000-2700 for the total.... its about $100 for my best estimate on the wheel bearings that is $100 each..and that covers the shop pressing them in. so bout $400 id say for wheel bearings. but i get a discount on mazda parts from the dealer so things could turn out a bit cheaper.
I have alot of the parts as is right now to install just waitig to do it right:D

Take an Evolution school, and you'll demolish him, and it'll be a lot cheaper than modding the car.

Autocross, unless both of you are regluars will be a total driver skill race.
