    gauging price and interest

    I've been giving it some thought and I am curious to know how many BG'ers would be interested in a low buck MS1 option. units would fall into the $200-$250 ranged fully assembled.

    these would be low buck does what it needs to options for people who either dont want assemble a unit themselves or want to drop big bucks on higher end MS units.


    they would run modern MS1 firmware
    they "could" be upgraded, but not geared to users who would need to.
    they will work with tunerstudio and VEAL autotuning
    with have serial, and possibly USB
    can do coilpacks
    in OEM cases


    if there is interest i will do the math and give a final cost before it ever makes it to GB so feel free to offer up opinions

      I'd be game for one in a few months. USB would be great to have too. Would this include the harness to connect to an LX/EGT harness or would that be extra?

        These units would most likley have an oem connector of some sort. And most likley pin'ed according to the standar BG BP harness, tho others are possible to.

        I'm trying to guage what hardware the BG crowd needs vs. Budget for lack of a better comparison

              will it have a base/ startup map? Also, vics control? Shift light?

                  it would have a startup map, but peoples definition vary, so lets this:

                  it will come with a map that should allow 80% of setups to run and drive (with wideband configured and installed) and of the remaining 20% most likley have an unseen install issue which can be troubleshoot via the forums/local members with ecu experience.

                  options will likely be vics, lanuch/flatshift.

                  things like shiftlights/boost control may be possible but either have to be DIY or have an extra cost


                  Im aiming to do everything needed to run a n/a or turbo BP for fuel spark vics and be a very cheap stepping stone from a GTX ecu and into the world of standalones.

                    i cant say till i actually build a test unit, but this will most likley mount inside an OEM ECU case.

                        How much time is actually involved in building a unit like this?

                          Normal units take 6-7hours to aseemble, I've done them as fast as 4 hours not includint testing (I still test every circuit )

                          These will probably take about the same and cost me $180 in parts tho I'm looking at cutting that if I can buy bulk in the right quanities.

                            i should also note that those are just the cost of parts for the MS, I have not calculate in the cost of wire, the ECU connector or case
                            price may have a core discount for all dead ECU's for the BG (full compatibility list will be posted at that time.)
