    safc hookup

I got everything hooked up but the throttle is reading 100% no matter what we change. Any one else experience this problem?

I am not familiar with it, but I know Derrick was saying that it wouldn't work with the 1st gens because of some voltage reason... I am not 100% sure. I could email him if you want.

There are a few people that are using the S-AFC so I don't see why it wouldn't work. I think Turbo1G had the S-AFC on his car as well as some Escort people that have performed the GTX swap.

Yes it does have that, I was thinking of just trying every wire leading off the TPS?

uhhh, I wouldn't do that, suppose you connect signal to ground... or something like that

What other options do I have, should I just call Corksport? I wish someone running an AFC were actually posting on this thread...

It's the 7th pin from the left, top row. That would be the throttle...but the AFC is always saying 100% when I monitor it. The air flow works, and so do the rpms...

I got mine hooked up to my GT. It will read 100% becuase you are running a TPS for a 5spd. You need the whole throttle body from an auto lxe, or lts or auto GT. The ecu for a 5spd is only made to read it open or closed, not at a certain % liek the auto one. When you floor it, the reading should be 0%, and 100% when its anywhere else. Get the Auto TPS

In terms of the Protege world, it's an automatic LX that has the 4 wire TPS. Also, I believe the GTX TPS is also 4-wire, which he has.

Well good news, I got it running correctly. I called up Corksport and talked to Derrick, and told me which wire to connect it to. If you take off the boot on the tps connector, its the green/white wire. Now I just gotta figure out how to use the damn safc now.
