    propane wrench?

Curious, anyone use either propane or "maapp" gas to release rusted nuts or bolts?I've been using a inexpensive mixture with oxy (propane)for yrs, tried a straight popane torch, and it did'nt do crap,My bud says he undid rusted crap with just gas.I don't want to not believe the effer.Anyone near the east coast use a pluming torch?

I had to use map gas and oxygen to remove a rusted wheel once. The little torches go through a lot of oxygen though.

I tried propane first, as it's cheaper, but I couldn't get the heat.

Mapp gas is about the hottest you will get without stepping up to oxy/acetylene or oxy/propane. I have used the mapp gas to free a rusted cylinder head bolt that broke off in the block before. It works, just takes longer, but it wont work that great if you need to heat a larger area obviously.

mapp gas all the time. it takes longer than oxy-acetylene, but is also darned maneuverable and handy. Don't have to move the dolly with the tanks, and uncoil the hose, and change tips/set the mix, etc.....

It really depends on what needs heating up, too.

I have oxy acetylene and propane...I'm discovering that propane works fine, just need to keep it there longer... a proper tip is good too... I have a fat tip on it...I'd use my oxy acetylene but I have the small tote kit and the tanks run out too quickly...
