There really is no advantage to having a lowered car that I know of besides it handles a little better IMO and it looks a LOT better.

NEVER cut your springs, that is an accident waiting to happen.

Yeah cutting springs is a horrible idea. You should be able to notice a drastic change in handling once you are lowered, I know I did. Like Joker was saying the Tein springs are on a special price from axronline.com.

Hey, you got Teins listed as
#SKM46-AUB00( Protege) and SKM46-AUB00a for the Protege5. Now the Tein site list them as the SAME #. No "a" at the end for the P5. Whats the deal here?

if you want to start with the basics... the Racing Beat springs are a good deal to start with.. should lower the car by 0.75".
cost me CDN$123 to get them offa ebay. They're even cheaper from protege5.com.
Eibachs are about $200-225 US, i think.. so like $300 + shipping..
for $500, you can probably find some Skunk2 coilovers on ebay.
