    93 mazda 323 1.6l bad gas tank

just got my bro a car and it uses a steel tank. im really familiar with the escort gts and from my understanding these 323's are basically the same. my question is will the stock gas tank from my gt work in his 93 323?

I believe the g.t tank is a little bigger .. filled the 94 on the weekend and took more gas than my 91 323

different fill neck , venting system and sending unit , and i am pretty sure the plastic tank's metal framework wont fit but i am not sure on that part

well looks like im gonna have to try this either way... :/ cause his old tank is rotted at the seams.

Any think i should bother with a short write up on the differences? hence im guessing the older cars have a metal tank as well?

Just got done pulling the old tank, from comparison, it looks like it will work. minus some wiring splicing for the ford style pump on the escort tank. Im working on posting pics of both tanks side by side. having to also swap out filler necks with more of my escort parts because of all the rust. also working on replace a bent control arm and nicked a rusty brake line while at it. having my brother buy me more tools is kinda a plus to doing this job.

GT tank looks a fair bit bigger in the pics ( never had the opportunity to put them side by side )

Actually the picture was angled. my bad. but i will take a few more pictures tomorrow. had to stop after the whole "brake fuhk" incident. going to have to steal the lines off my project car. going to be using stainless lines on it anyways :/ boy, do i dislike rusty lines. The tanks are relatively the same size. the escort gt one is a bit wider. but the gt ones hold more than the lx. plus its more molded-shaped rather than punched steel (guessing)
