    November 2012 ROTM Nominations

Its been a while since we've had nominations up lets get back at it!
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Think your car is worthy of being ride of the month? Think someone else on this board has a well put together car? Toss up a nomination in this thread if they fit the following details...

    Nominating
    1. You can nominate anyone you'd like - including yourself. The catch is, you're only allowed one nomination PER MONTH. Doesn't matter if you own one car, fifty cars, no cars, or a Mr. Potato head with wheels. Nominate anyone you think deserves the win (including yourself) and post them (or yourself) in this thread, if they(or you) qualify for the above rules.

    2. When you post a nomination you must include at least 2 or 3 pictures of said car with a brief explanation of why you think the car deserves to be ROTM. The member/car you nominate must have a VB Pic Gallery set up or a Worklog. If they don't have one their nomination will be deleted. If you nominate yourself, feel free to post your mod list with your photos so users can see your "total package" easier

    3. Previous winners cannot have their same car win ROTM twice unless it has been 2 years since winning ROTM.

    4. Winners of the ROTM will receive their car and bio in a dedicated ROTM thread. Winner is eligible for (2) Clubprotege decals of any color- PM me (FE3-323) for more info

ALL NOMINEE'S MUST HAVE A vB Picture Gallery or Worklog
If you don't have one, your nomination will be deleted.

    ------------------------------------------------

    Time Details
    1. Nominations will be taken for a period of exactly 1 week (7 days) from the date posted or when 10 cars are nominated.

    2. Nominations will only be open to currently active members only (the member should have at least 5 posts in the last month prior to the nomination post. This way we can make sure the right kind of person gets voted in - a contributing member of CP.)

    The following people have won within the past 2years and CANNOT be nominated;
Rayman, 323 GT-R, analytical, Mr GoD, Lex, therieldeal, Mazdagirl/IvarR, Dan [Sac], DeeAOne, Jinx, cee1481, scortadict, and CaymentEGT91

i nomiate 323permin! Cleanest example of a 323 around. We all know tons of work went in to it, and it really shows. Not only is it a good lookin car, it also performs as good as it looks, and is only going to get better with the motor swap.

I'm going to nominate Bogaut and his AWD Protege. I've really enjoyed the progress on this car and I think it's a very unique vehicle. From the bug eye grille, GTR swap, Infini parts, to the GTR seats, badass wheels, and several other parts that I cannot even begin to name (lol), I think this car definitely qualifies for COTM.

Okay. After seeing that Video of Matt's Wagon... I'll nominate that.

            For those who aren't familiar:

AtomicEGT's Escort wagon, has been GTR swapped, but the madness did not stop there. The dinky GTR turbo (LOL, not really dinky, but in comparison) was ditched in favor of a Holset HY35 I believe. Maybe HX35, Idunno. Either way, this car regularly see's 1.8 to as much as 2.5 bars of boost, and is such a sleeper. I love Wagons, and the overall look and performance of this particular one, does it for me. Ksport coilovers have calmed the massive torque steer, but it's still a handful. To top it off, although many countless JDM doohickeys adorn this vehicle, from the outside you'd never know how BAD (good) it really is.

Good luck to all nominees, I love each of the cars nominated for different reasons.

Kinda happy to see this resurrected.
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

This is what you can accomplish when you are not working for a good 8 - 12 months and spend to many countless hours
in the garage , spend to much money , and search the web for deals on parts ... its very calming and meditative LOL

I call it the " Princess " but I like it to look pretty and go fast too.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

Okay I guess I should put the wagon's details up as well... I don't believe I really have a shot at this one, there are some great cars here, and my wagon is not for the purists... but it's worth a shot.

I've owned this wagon, off and on for roughly 5 years now. I sold it to my dad when I started building my 4wd Protege, and ended up buying it back when I supercharged the Escort GT. It's been through 3 engines and a few transmissions in the last five years. Dropped a valve seat in the stock 1.9, so I did the 2.0 SPI swap for simplicity as I needed it running again soon. Then that spun a rod bearing when I hit a corner waaaay too fast and starved it of oil. So I let it sit for a while, as I had too many other projects at the time. Then I finally bought a house last July, and as soon as my garage was set up, I got to work on the KL swap. It was rough at points, I had a few small issues along the way. But I finally finished it.

As luck would have it, on my way home from the Race Shop where I had just purchased a weld on pan fitting, a few t-bolt clamps, and an oil feed fitting, the last few parts I needed to turbocharge the wagon, My miata was struck by an explorer and totaled. This really screwed up plans for the wagon. It went from a project that I had all the time in the world to build correct, to daily driver status overnight. So, I put the Turbo plans on hold and focused on just making it drivable, and reliable.

The first KL was garbage, and lasted roughly a week before the thing spun a rod bearing. I believe it was from a 93 Probe GT... So I went to the yard and pulled a fresh Low mileage 02 Millenia motor, and threw that in. It's what still powers the car. I daily drove this wagon all summer, and even took it on a few 500mile trips. It's great fun. Here's the modifications I can remember:

                            Motor:
                            ..02 Millenia 2.5L V6 swap
