      EMS, Injectors, fuel pump,
When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

There is so much stuff you need to do it correctly. The price tag adds up. The most you could get out of you teacher would be a manifold and probly the exhaust and IC piping done. Those are probly the most expensive things, but you would still need:
          Fuel Pump
          Injectors
          EMS
          Clutch
          Boost Controller
          BOV
          FMU
          Boost Gauge
          A/F Ratio Gauge
maybe even SAFC and MSD Boost Retard
Im sure Im forgeting somethings. If you go turbo, don't whimp out and half ass it on the parts. Spend the money, do it rite. You will thank yourself later. Turboing a car isn't cheap, sorry.

ANY turbo will work on your car, you just have to make a manifold.

EMS = Engine Management Systen ie..Haltech

You can get the parts just about anywhere.
                www.summitracing.com
                www.corksport.com
                www.nopionline.com
                www.ebay.com
                www.jcwhitney.com <---mandrel bends
local tuner shops, etc... look around, wont be hard.

Haltech E6K (~$1000 +/- ) is said to be the way to go on EMS, or you could just get the GTX ECU and harness but it will be limited on boost psi.

For fuel pump and injectors most go with RX7 turbo parts.

Personally IMO, just doing a swap would be more cost effective. That's what Im doing (GTX swap). I just paid $1050 for the motor shipped and i still need another 2-3g's worth of parts.

i know im a n00b but i still must ask.....why do u need an upgraded fuel sys if im the turbo just pushes more air in the motor?

It's a little more complicated than that. The turbo basically makes the engine run harder and the engine can't keep up without more fuel. The amout of air pushed into the engine is directly related to the amount of fuel needed. More air = more fuel, you can't just add more of one and expect it to work.
go to www.howstuffworks.com and read up on how turbo charged engines work. Another good read is "maximin boost" by corkey bell.

1st step to going turbo is research. Im not even done researching myself and I have the motor on it's way. But its not going in untill I have every part I need and Im sure I know what Im doing.

You need more fuel with the added air. The air/fuel mixture has to go up in order for the power to go up.....of course the tricky part is getting that mixture correctly thus the need for the gtx ecu or ems.

I've had my motor sitting in the garage since September and I just started the swap last weekend. Still need to buy some parts here and there, but I am in no rush as this will surely take more than a month to complete.
