Measurements for Rear subframes needed on BF AWD/FWD and Pro4WD

Looking to get some work done by Jim Pierce Motorsports and looks like ive got some homework to do.

If anybody has a spare rear subframe from a BF FWD, BF GTX, or Pro4WD then you can be a world of help to this endeavor.

I need measurements for the main chassis pickup points on each car/subframe, if you happen to have a stripped down shell and can pull the measurements off of that that would work great! Im not worried about locations of dowels that are used to help align the subframe, all i need are measurements (front to back and side to side) of the main chassis pickup points going through the cars framerails. I could also use overall width measurements from the Control arm mounting points on the subframe, from the left mounting point to the right, and heights measurements in relation to the Chassis pickup points if possible. If anyone can help just post in here or get a hold of me. I dont currently have access to any of these parts, so if anyone with some parts hoarded or stashed can give me a holler and work with me it would be greatly appreciated!

    Happy Motoring!

I've got a loose bf gtx subframe handy but I think they are different from the bg in track width.
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Both mine are side by side. I'll measure each as best I can this weekend.

Darren, you have both bf and Bg Gtx 's correct? I am under the impression the Gtx hatch back and pro4wd have the same exact subframes. If yours is already out I will let you take care of the measurements. A: mine is still in the car and B I'm headed off again for a month.

I can measure up my awd protege subframe but I doubt it'll be any different from Darren's BG GTX

I would love to get measurements from the control arm mounting points to find out if so, mostly need the distance between them. And track width differences will be mediated in fabrication and design of the product.

Awesome, it will be tricky with them on the car. But I have faith in you getting solid measurements regardless.

You might be the only person on this forum that is as gungho about Metrics, haha.

Even if it is the same, the more instances we have of them measuring the same, the better. Can never measure too many times.

Thanks for whatever time this takes you to help the cause fellas, it is much appreciated!

significantly more accurate. and precision is important when it comes to building proper pieces..... Just my take.

More precise, yes; more accurate no.

Just measured. BG and BF GTX identical.
Front to back 255mm center to center
Side to side 930mm center to center
Approx 200mm from rear bolt to drive shafts center line.

The 930mm was measured with a cheap tape measure, as I could not find my good one. At that length I'd say it's 930mm +/- 5mm. The 255mm was measured using a precision engineering ruler. The 200 was really tough to measure, and is just a guideline to get an idea of orientation.

This sounds like good news to me! Also, pretty much confirms what I have heard about the Bg and bf rear ends being identical.

Beau, whats the time frame for getting Jim these measurements? I'd still like to contribute, verify Darren's number, it's looking like I will be able to get measurements in mid march when I get home.

This is good news! Ill be sure to forward this to Jim. Now we just need measurements from a BF 2WD, Ryan got an input?

Sounds like the earliest things will start being fabricated is the third week of March, so your timing should work perfect, although I have PMed 2 others for Pro4WD Subframe measurements, just waiting to hear back from them. The more measurements (metric or standard) the better, you can never measure too many times.
